Commissioner Mike Cella is serving his first term as a County Commissioner representing District 1.

For the past 8 years, he has successfully owned and operated Jumperz Fun Center, in Orange Park, serving thousands of Clay County citizens.

In 2004, Mike was elected as the first Supervisor on the Fleming Island Plantation Community Development Board, serving the past 12 years. Ten of those years, he served as Chairman. During his tenure, the Fleming Island Plantation has experienced vast growth, adding eight neighborhoods and a second swimming pool amenity center. He has also served as the First President and Co-Founder of the FIP Neighborhood Advisory Council before residents were allowed to serve on the CDD Board. 

Prior to opening his business, Mike enjoyed a 30-year career in radio and TV broadcasting, concluding his career at WOKV Radio in Jacksonville where he hosted the Morning Show and served as the Assistant Program Director. Among the highlights of his broadcasting career, he announced the TV play-by-play for the UCONN Huskies Basketball Team at the Championship Game of the N.I.T. Tournament from Madison Square Garden.

Mike is very active in his community, serving on the Fleming Island Lions Club, the Rotary E-Club of North Florida, and the Clay County Chamber of Commerce. He is Past President and Co-Founder of the BIZNET Marketing Referral Group of Orange Park, actively involved with the Republican Party, serving as Committeeman for Precinct 410 of the Clay County Republican Executive Committee, a member the Clay County Republican Men’s Club and the South Clay Republican Club.

Commissioner Cella’s 2016/2017 committee assignments include, Vice Chair, Finance & Audit Committee and Chairman, Tourism Development Council.

Mike lives in Fleming Island with his wife Vicky, who is a Nurse Manager at St. Vincent's Hospital in Riverside. Their daughter, Lauren, also resides in Fleming Island. Son, Brian and his wife, Jaime, reside in Connecticut with Mike and Vicky's grandchildren, Sadie and Collin.
